Moray East Wind Farm

These fabrication scopes were overseen by Bureau Technical Services for our client Edgen Murray across multiple facilities, including SeAH, CWBD, Hana Engineering and Choseok in South Korea and Ireata and Dajin in China, which included Pin Piles, WTG tubulars, Transition Pieces, Bracing sub-assembly joints, Flanges.

Bureau Technical Services Inspectors were local South Korean, Chinese and UAE team totalling 46 various disciplined Inspectors (Welding, Coating, NDT and Dimensional Control) supported by a complete Quality Assurance team in the UK, including project quality leads, planners, project managers, NDT, and welding experts were mobilised to support the project.

Our scope was to oversee the manufacturing surveillance activities from initial plate delivery to monitoring Welding, Dimension and Visual inspection check, NDT, Coating, and final inspection, including:

  • Welding / NDT Surveillance / Inspection
  • Column and flange fit up,
  • Weld and coating defect repairs
  • Material cutting verification,
  • MT, VT/MT/UT NDT inspection, review the material test certificate of plate, review of batch/lot certificates of welding consumables, Ambient condition test, substrate temperature test, DFT checks and Coating application vs approved procedures.
