A new European centre will concentrate research and testing for innovations in railway infrastructure and training, the Reseau Ferre de France (RFF) has announced.

Plans for the European Railway Test Centre (CEEF) are currently out to consultation.

The centre will be managed by Railenium, a technical research institute that will provide a network to promote rail innovation, financial support, and assistance in the realisation of projects.

Railenium will also carry out applied research and provide a tool to validate innovation and testing at CEEF, to help reduce the costs of improving performance of railway networks across Europe.
