The Paddington New Yard contract has been awarded to Costain Ltd, Crossrail has announced.

The £30m contract is subject to a 10-day standstill under European procurement rules.

Costain beat bidders HOCHTIEF and Kier Infrastructure & Overseas Ltd.

The work includes the construction of a new elevated bus deck, relocation of an existing concrete batching plant and preparatory works for the installation of new rail track and associated systems for Crossrail.
