France’s Technip has been awarded two subsea contracts by Danish company Maersk Oil for work off Denmark.

The contracts cover Maersk’s Valdemar and Roar gas lift project and the Rolf replacement pipeline project, located on the Danish continental shelf about 250 kilometres from the coastal town of Esbjerg.

Technip’s work scope includes the fabrication and installation of two riser caissons on the Valdemar and Roar platforms and an 18-kilometre flowline between the Rolf A and Gorm E platforms. The company will also complete pipeline trenching and protection operations, fabricate and install 34 spools and carry out offshore commissioning.

The engineering player did not disclose the exact value of the deals but said they were important contracts with a total value of between 50-100 million euros ($68-136 million).

The projects will be executed from Technip’s operating centre in Oslo, Norway.

Technip expects to utilise its diving and multi-support vessel Wellservicer for the offshore installation in the European summer of 2015.

The flowline for Rolf pipeline project will be fabricated in Orkanger, Norway, and installed by Technip’s Apache II pipelay vessel.
