Australia-listed WDS has been awarded two contracts for major liquefied natural gas projects in Queensland worth A$65 million (US$60.7 million).
The major services player has won a contract with Santos for the Gladstone LNG (GLNG) contract and Arrow Energy for the upstream segment of the Australia-Pacific LNG project.
WDS won a contract for the GLNG Fairview Eastern Flank phase construction contract to install facilities for 74 gas wells, including connecting gas and water gathering systems and high voltage power.
Work will begin later this year.
WDS managing director Terry Chapman said this project was part of a 10-year relationship with Santos.
The other contract is a joint venture agreement with China Petroleum Engineering & Construction for a construction master services agreement.
This is for a planned expansion of the Daandine project, which will take about two years with an option to extend for another year.
Daandine is a compression station which is being upgraded to support Arrow’s plans to sell into the domestic gas market.
The expansion is being managed by Clough Amec.
The joint venture is providing mechanical and electrical installation of infrastructure, fabrication and installation of wellhead surface infrastructure, installation of gas distribution and water gathering flow lines, power works and civil construction.
Work will start in September, with works to be carried out from the company’s Brisbane office
