July 29 (Renewables Now) – Axpo Holding AG announced on Thursday it has agreed to sell a 66-MW wind farm in Italy to local energy supplier Edison SpA (BIT:EDNR) as the Swiss renewable power producer and energy trader seeks to focus on new growth initiatives.

All necessary approvals for the sale of the wind park in Bisaccia, southern Italy, are already in place and the deal is effective immediately.

The financial details were kept under wraps.

Commissioned in September 2012, the wind park has been managed by Axpo’s subsidiary WinBis. It features 22 units of Danish Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) V90 turbines.

The average annual production of the wind park was around 98.5 GWh over the last six years, with an average availability of 98.6% per year.

This deal supports Axpo’s strategy to redistribute and divest certain wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) assets across Europe. The Swiss company has a goal to develop 3 GW of onshore wind farms and 10 GW of solar plants by 2030.
