London-listed Leni Oil & Gas has found more than 350 feet of hydrocarbon-bearing sands in the Goudron field in Trinidad.
Electric logs have been run over the length of the GY-664 well, confirming the presence of 350 feet of hydrocarbon-bearing Goudron sands.
The first casing point of the well was deepened from its expected depth of 1540 feet because the well encountered a thicker-than-expected oil-bearing section.
Drilling is now continuing through to the total planned depth because the well is designed to test the Gros Morne and Lower Cruse sands.
This is the first well in Leni’s 30-well development campaign.
The Goudron field is expected to hold 126 million proved and probable barrels of oil.
