Danish energy group Ørsted SA will trade and balance the output of 325 MW of onshore wind parks in the Netherlands.
The company said on Tuesday it has signed a two-year route-to-market agreement with Dutch green energy provider Greenchoice that covers the latter’s onshore wind portfolio at home. Under the deal, Ørsted will bring the electricity to the market by selling and balancing the power from those wind farms.
“We believe Ørsted is well equipped to manage part of our wind portfolio, which will aid us in expanding the wind portfolio even further,” said Edgar Frijters, portfolio manager power of Greenchoice.
In the Netherlands, Ørsted owns the 752-MW Borssele 1 & 2 offshore complex and also takes care of the power trading and balancing. The 94-turbine wind farm, Ørsted’s first one in the Netherlands, was brought live last month.
