Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm

This project required the provision of a local South Korean Inspector workforce across 4 mills and manufacturing facilities. Our involvement was overseeing the manufacturing surveillance of Pin Piles. Each pile is approximately 65 metres long, has a 2.4-metre diameter, and weighs 240 tonnes.

The piles form part of the turbine’s foundation structure, which includes one jacket and four-pin piles anchoring the jacket to the seabed.

Developed by Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, JERA and Swancor Renewable Energy Company Ltd., and located between four and ten nautical miles off Miaoli County, the 376 MW Formosa 2 OWF will have 47 Siemens 8 MW turbines on jacket foundations in up to 55m water depth.
