Midia Gas Development Project (MGD)

Bureau was engaged to provide QA/QC services for the Midia Gas Development Project, including the witnessing of the field joint coating process throughout the PQT and laboratory testing. Due to the successful testing scope onshore, we were asked to follow this project offshore Romania for the Pipelaying activities.

PQT was performed on 8″ & 16″ OD spool.

• FJC process was witnessed throughout the PQT (gritblasting / primer application & HSS or HDPUF process)
• Coating systems used were Liquid Epoxy / Heat Shrink Sleeve (HSS) & High-Density Polyurethane Foam (HDPUF)

Laboratory tests included.

• Witnessing of sample removal / preparation through to completion of test required.
• Tests performed included – Peel Strength, Lap Shear, Impact Resistance, Indentation Resistance, Cathodic Disbondment, Open Cell Content, Dry Density, Saturated Density, Compressive Strength Test. (Tests were performed in accordance with requested NACE, ISO & ASTM standards)

Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG), owned by investment fund Carlyle International Energy Partners and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, implements during June 2019 – September 2021 the first gas production project in the Romanian continental shelf of the Black Sea built after 1989 in Romania – Midia Gas Development Project (MGD).
