Danish engineering consultancy Ramboll Oil & Gas is entering the UK Market through the acquisition of Aberdeen-based peer player Apply Altra.
The former unit of Norway’s Apply Group has now been given the name of its new parent after the formal switch of ownership became effective earlier this month, although no value was disclosed by Ramboll for the transaction.
“The divestment is due to a strategic review in Apply, where Altra was considered a non-core activity for us,” said Apply chief executive Peder Sortland.
Apply Altra has carried out engineering work on 2500 facilities for oil companies such as Maersk Oil, Total and Apache during its 20-year lifetime.
The acquisition extends Ramboll’s market reach to cover all sectors of the North Sea, encompassing the UK, Norway and Denmark.
